Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills a new amazing record was set for a program glittering with awards and records. Mitch Rogaliner (103) became the first ever Freshman State Champion for Bedford! In the last match of the finals Rogaliner, who put together an amazing tournament, PINNED Josh Wood from Rochester Hills. Rogaliner set a new bar of excellence for Bedford Wrestling. His teammates erupted in cheers as the young grappler pointed to the crowd in victory. Congratulations to Mitch Rogaliner - 2010 STATE CHAMPION!

Earlier in the day Junior Brian Gibbs sliced through the field of 135 pounders to achieve an amazing 3rd Place finish. Gibbs commitment and dedication paid off as he dazzled the Bedford crowd with his unparalleled skill. Fantastic tournament Brian - Way to GO!!!

Brian Gibbs, Mitch Rogaliner, and Nate Stevens will head to the Palace of Auburn Hills to represent Bedford High School at the Individual State Tournament. Wrestling begins on Thursday and runs through Saturday. Please consider making the trip to see these three incredible wrestlers face Michigan’s wrestling elite. If you have a wrestler in the family it is a terrific opportunity to wach the best in the state.

The Bedford Mules lost a close scrape with Monroe High School 30 to 27 Wednesday night. Highlights of the night were pins by Freshman Mitch Rogaliner and Mitch Pawlak. The fans erupted in cheers after momentum shifting wins from Juniors Chaz Hudson and Brian Gibbs. Team leader and senior T.J. Romijn notched a decision in his match. Also winning by decision were Bryan Smith and Logan Rimmer.

Bedford traveled to Ypsilanti Saturday for the SEC League Tournament. Bedford came out on top scoring 226 points to win the day! Bedford’s tournament win combined with its undefeated regular season put them on top of the SEC Red Division with Monroe second and Pioneer third. Tecumseh won the White division.
Brian Gibbs, Mason Allison and Mitch Rogaliner were tournament champions. Mason Cole was selected for the Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations for bringing home the league title!! Great day of wrestling men! Wow!

Bedford traveled to Ann Arbor for the Pioneer Quad. In Bedford’s first match against the Pioneers the Mules won 55 to 9. Next up Bedford faced the Ypsilanti Lincoln Railsplitters. The Mules won this match up 60 to 15. Senior T.J. Romijn achieved a career milestone of 100 wins tonight. Congratulations T.J. and to the entire team!

Bedford traveled up US-23 Saturday to Dundee’s Wittibslager Challenge Dual Meet Tournament. Bedford defeated Eaton Rapids 48 to 21, Bedford bested Springport 59 to 15, Bedford vanquished Davison 48 to 24. Bedford lost a close one to Greenville 38 to 28, and Dundee won the tournament with a final score of Dundee 45 - Bedford 21.
Going 5-0 for the day were Mason Cole, Brian Gibbs, and Mitch Pawlak. Notching a 4-1 record for the tournament were Eric Draper, Chaz Hudson, Bryan Smith, John Prajzner, and Mitch Rogaliner.

The Bedford Kicking Mules faced a tough Adrian Maples wrestling team in a dual meet Wednesday night. Bedford won 36 to 22 with Mason Cole and Ethan Davis pinning their opponents. Freshman Mitch Rogaliner defeated a two time state placer in one of the many exciting match-ups of the evening. Congratulations men!
