Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills a new amazing record was set for a program glittering with awards and records. Mitch Rogaliner (103) became the first ever Freshman State Champion for Bedford! In the last match of the finals Rogaliner, who put together an amazing tournament, PINNED Josh Wood from Rochester Hills. Rogaliner set a new bar of excellence for Bedford Wrestling. His teammates erupted in cheers as the young grappler pointed to the crowd in victory. Congratulations to Mitch Rogaliner - 2010 STATE CHAMPION!
Earlier in the day Junior Brian Gibbs sliced through the field of 135 pounders to achieve an amazing 3rd Place finish. Gibbs commitment and dedication paid off as he dazzled the Bedford crowd with his unparalleled skill. Fantastic tournament Brian - Way to GO!!!
Bedford traveled to Ypsilanti Saturday for the SEC League Tournament. Bedford came out on top scoring 226 points to win the day! Bedford’s tournament win combined with its undefeated regular season put them on top of the SEC Red Division with Monroe second and Pioneer third. Tecumseh won the White division.
Brian Gibbs, Mason Allison and Mitch Rogaliner were tournament champions. Mason Cole was selected for the Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations for bringing home the league title!! Great day of wrestling men! Wow!

Two time state champion Bedford Wrestler Alex Ortman pinned his opponent Logan Downs in the Eastern Michigan versus Seton Hill dual meet. The Eagles won 30 to 9. Way to Go Alex! Follow Ortman’s college career here.
Bedford’s two time state champion Alex Ortman placed third this weekend at the Cleveland Open. Ortman lost in the first round and battled back to win SIX in a row to take third at the event at Cleveland State.
Freshman Nick Whitenburg took an impressive sixth at the event.
Both Ortman and Whitenburg wrestle for Eastern Michigan University.
